Top 5 Beach Clubs in Marbella: Where to Spend a Perfect Beach Day

Marbella, Costa del Sol, Spain

If there is one thing Marbella does better than almost anywhere else in Spain, it's the beach club. With around 27 kilometres of coastline, there is a place for every mood, whether you want a long, lazy lunch by the sea, a glass of champagne on a daybed or a lively afternoon with a DJ.

After spending weeks exploring the Costa del Sol, I put together my shortlist of the five beach clubs I'd recommend most. Each one has its own personality, so there's something here whether you're travelling as a couple, with friends or on a special occasion.

Here are my top five beach clubs in Marbella.

1. Nikki Beach Marbella: Glamour, Music and Themed Parties

Elviria, Marbella East | Best for lively afternoons and celebrations

Nikki Beach is probably the most famous beach club in Marbella, and it's easy to see why. It was one of the first clubs in town to bring this relaxed, high-energy beach-party style, and it has kept its reputation ever since.

The setting is classic Nikki Beach. White Balinese-style beds, a pool, palm trees and a lively atmosphere set the scene, and the restaurant serves fresh food and creative cocktails. Themed parties run through the season, from around April to October, so it's worth checking the schedule before you go.

Vibe: Glamorous, social and festive.

Best for: Groups of friends, birthdays and anyone who wants music and energy with their sunbed.

Worth knowing: It gets busy in high season, so book ahead if you want a daybed or a table.

2. Ocean Club Marbella: Iconic Circular Beds by the Pool

Puerto Banús, Marbella | Best for a glamorous day near the marina

Ocean Club is one of the best-known names in Puerto Banús, and its most recognisable feature is the circular beds arranged around the pool. It's a stylish, sociable spot that feels like a mini resort on the sand.

It's close to the bars, shops and restaurants of the marina, yet it keeps an exclusive feel on a beautiful stretch of coast. I loved how easy it was to combine a morning by the sea with an afternoon of wandering around Puerto Banús.

Vibe: Chic, lively and very photogenic.

Best for: Couples, friends and people who want to stay close to Puerto Banús.

Worth knowing: Like most top clubs, weekends and summer afternoons fill up, so reserve in advance.

3. La Cabane: Five-Star Relaxation by the Sea

Marbella | Best for a calm, elegant beach day

If you'd rather relax than party, La Cabane is the one. It is widely described as one of the most elegant beach clubs on the Costa del Sol, with a sleek, modern design, panoramic sea views and the kind of attentive service you would expect from a five-star hotel.

The focus here is on comfort, good food and drinks, and a refined atmosphere rather than late-night partying. It's the ideal choice for a special lunch or a quiet afternoon with a view.

Vibe: Elegant, calm and polished.

Best for: Couples, special occasions and travellers who value service and design.

Worth knowing: It's a daytime experience, so plan it as a long lunch or an afternoon rather than a night out.

4. La Sala by the Sea: A Thai-Inspired Tropical Escape

Marbella | Best for seafood, sushi and a boutique feel

La Sala by the Sea is known as one of the first boutique-style beach clubs in Marbella, and it's also one of the smallest, which gives it a more intimate atmosphere than the big names.

The Thai-inspired design feels like a tropical oasis at the edge of the Mediterranean. There are three beach bars serving seafood platters, sushi and Thai-fusion dishes, so it's a great pick for food lovers who also want a sunbed and a sea view.

Vibe: Boutique, tropical and relaxed.

Best for: Foodies, couples and anyone who likes a smaller, more personal setting.

Worth knowing: Because it's smaller, space is limited, so book early for the best spots.

5. Marbella Club Beach Club: Timeless Luxury on the Golden Mile

Golden Mile, Marbella | Best for classic, understated elegance

My last pick is the beach club at the Marbella Club Hotel, a symbol of classic luxury on the Costa del Sol. It combines Mediterranean views with an easy, elegant atmosphere, and it suits travellers who prefer refined comfort to a loud scene.

The hotel has direct access to the beach, with sun loungers, umbrellas and a beach bar, and it's a lovely place to spend a slow afternoon with a cool drink. If you stay at the hotel, as I did, it's right on your doorstep.

Vibe: Refined, relaxed and timeless.

Best for: Couples, families and guests who want a quieter, upscale day by the sea.

Worth knowing: It's easiest to enjoy as a hotel guest, so check access and reservations before you go.

Which Beach Club Is Right for You?

Every beach club on this list offers a different side of Marbella. Nikki Beach is the one for music and celebration. Ocean Club is the stylish choice near Puerto Banús. La Cabane is the calm, elegant pick. La Sala by the Sea is the boutique favourite for food. And Marbella Club is the classic for timeless luxury.

A few tips before you go:

  • Book ahead for weekends and summer afternoons, especially for daybeds.

  • Check minimum spends and opening hours, which can change by season.

  • Bring sun cream, a hat and a light cover-up, as the sun is strong.

  • Arrive early if you want the best spot by the pool or the water.

Wherever you spend your beach day, you're sure to find a spot in Marbella that fits your style. If you'd like to see where I stayed along the coast, take a look at my hotel guides too.
